WW1 Mech design
I wanted to design something that I could eventually create a series of characters and designs for. Inspired by the anniversary of The Battle of the Somme I have created these Tommy Bots by designing from the foot up. I wanted to create an armoured mech unit that wouldn't just sink into the heavy mud that perpetuated the battlefield.
Constructed from mostly angle Iron, riveted together with bracing supports for strength, and powered by a dual steam boiler mounted on the mechs back, which in turn drives a series of pistons and valves inside the unit.
I have to say thanks to the Art fellas at work, who have inspired me to get off my arse and make something again, so I am looking forward to pushing this a bit further, painting it up properly and more importantly turning it into a 3D print.
