I have been meaning to upload this chap for a while, as I have finally gotten round to getting a reasonable print from my FDM printer. The Model stands just under 300mm tall, was split up into components to print, arms, legs head torso, MG, Steam Tanks, pipe work and ammo boxes. The whole mesh was modeled in 3DS Max, and Z-Brush, and run through meshmixer and then printed. The real tricky part to printing this model, is the huge amount of negative space within the model, hence having to really work out how to break the model up into parts to print that can easily be cleaned up, then assembled. I have included some of my earlier attempts of printing this model, hence the whole Tommy bot Army on the table. Even though this project has taken me probably 2 years to get to this print quality which still could be a lot better, its been a fantastic learning process, and the amazing reward of getting to see your creations come to life its hard to beat!
